HighComp AS manufactures glass fibre-reinforced polymere
(GRP/FRP) installations for a wide variety of applications
both
onshore and offshore.
HighComp AS is founded in 1971, and located one hour
north of Stavanger. Over the past decade, the company
has carved
out a niche for itself in the production
of large scale GRP/FRP / Sandwich installations designed
to meet the stringent requirements posed by the offshore
industry.
GRP/FRP
has the advantages of being corrosion-proof and extremely
strong, despite its lightweight, making it many contractors
first choice for the construction
of protection structures for pipelines and sub sea
installations
in the North Sea.
HighComp AS has earned a reputation as an experienced
supplier in the Norwegian subsea market. HighComp AS
initially
got involved in subsea designs in connection
with the
construction of the well protector on the Draugen
field in 1992. Since then, the company has been involved
in
more than 20 major projects, producing nearly a 2000
tonnes
of GRP/FRP covers. The company responded by expanding
production capacity, which is now at 500 ton per year
and rising.
