Wind Power is HighComp´s second division.

Wind power is used in large scale wind farms for national electrical grids as well as in small individual turbines for providing electricity in isolated locations.This market is in a strong growth, both national and world wide.

HighComp manufacture turbine-housings or nacelles. The nacelles, which measure approx. 8*9*10 metres, are fabricated from sandwich composites. This approach was taken in order to achieve a light, strong and stiff structure.

Manufacturing this product has been a great challenge for HighComp, with fabrication of more comlex moulds and increased finish demands. The production method is vacuum infusion, which ensures a high fibre content and a strong laminate. I addition this method considerably reduce the gas emission during cure.
